What you may not know and did'nt ask about me.

I absolutly LOVE to cook.  Heck I even like to think I am pretty good at it, but, alas all evidence points to the contrary.  Not long ago I made Baked Chicken with Lemon and Garlic.  Served over a bed of Dill infused Orzo Pasta, with an Arugala Salad with a home made vinnegtette.  My wife and I thought it was good.  My oldest son Robbie said "I don't like it."
"Someday you will appreciate your dads great cooking."  My wife responded.
"Yea, the day he learns to make Macaroni and Cheese!"

My dog Biscuit can, and often does smile.

When I lived in Iowa I worked at my familys bait shop, and guided fishing trips.  It was fun, but there are not alot of people that go to Iowa for the fishing, so business was slow to say the least.  You know what they say in real estate, location, location, location.  And a good guide does not normally get to fish.  Having to spend all day in a boat watching other people fish can drive a fella a little crazy.

I like to watch movies.  I would be a terrible critic though, because I like almost every movie I see.  My criteria is simple.  If I can sit down, and lose myself in it, whatever it is I liked it.....Roger Ebert I am not!

I LOVE OUR VETERANS!!!!!  My father was wounded in Vietnam.  I saw, and continue to see a glimpse of what it is like to have gone through combat, and live with all of the ramifications.  Both physical, and mental.  I am not telling you I know what is like.  I do not.  My hat is off to all of you who have gone, and will go through it.  My family, and I Thank You for providing us such a great place to live.

I have 2 sons Robbie (5), Joey(2)  They are the greatest thing in the world.
Check out my lil guys with daddy's duck and goose calls.

Well after 5 days of messing with my thermostat (see below)  I finally cried uncle, and called in a professional.  We should have heat by tonight, and my wallet should feel a little lite!

So on Friday Andrea noticed the thermostat in our bedroom was dead, so we toughed out a chilly night and I was planning on working on it Saturday morning after Robbies football game.  His team got murdered, and then we went home.  The air unit is in the attic above our bedroom closet.  Luckily our house has 10 foot ceilings or getting up there would have been a breeze.  As I was climbing on chairs and closet shelves, to the attic opening, my oldest son remarks "Not exactly spiderman is he?"  This was not funny as I was sure I pulled something.  I ended up getting up there, and finding nothing wrong, however I had a terrible truth staring me in the face...I know nothing of AC/Heating units.  I barely knew where to find it.  A complete lack of knowledge never stopped me from anything before.  So here I am in the attic looking at this big metal thing with ducts coming out of it, and I got nothing.  After great effort and 2 snickering kids I was able to get down with relativly few injuries, just in time for the Razorback game with the gators....We all know how that went.
After thinking about it all day Sunday I decided it must be the thermostat, so my plan was to take the downstairs thermostat, and swap it with the upstairs thermostat, and then we would know if it was a bad thermostat, well to make a long story short....Neither one of them work now, and My wife is mad as a hornet, my kids are still making fun of me for being fat and unable to climb, and it is getting cold at night.  I think I should call a professional, but I just know it is going to be something stupid easy and it will cost me 500 bucks AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  I also think I  need a ladder.  How was your weekend?

Is this crazy heat good for my tomatos?  I got a bunch growing, but they just won't seem to get ripe, and I want one....I want one bad.  I just stare longingly at my back yard waiting to see something red, but nope, just green with spots of brown, which reminds me Robbie needs to get out there with the pooper scooper!

Back from a great trip to Iowa to a family reunion for Andrea's mom.  That was alot of fun, some other highlights of the trip.
1.  My dad sent my wife and my brothers wife to get manicures and pedicures leaving my dad and I at home alone with 3 little boys and a 6 week old baby girl, and things were going fine untill something smelled bad, and we had to change a girls diaper, I have to admit I was off the map lost on that deal.
2.  The farmers market in West Des Moines Iowa is a sight to behold.  3 live bands food everywhere, cheap beverages.....AWESOME!
3.  Went boating with the kids, mom, dad, brother and his wife and kids, and we did a little tubing....alot of tubing.....extreme tubing, where the idea is to see how long you can stay on.  This was a blast, however I am alot older than I used to be.  I am now 6'5" 280lbs of walking pain, even the tops of my feet are bruised from skipping across the water at an absolutly irresponsible rate of speed......GOOD TIMES!!!!!
I will post a few pics soon
