There's some controversy stewing out of North Texas, over a 12-year old boy who wants to play Pee-Wee football.  Sounds pretty normal right? ...not so much.  Elijah, a 6 foot tall, 297lbs., 7th grader from Mesquite, practiced with his Pee-Wee team for 3 weeks, then at weigh-in this week was told he was too "big", and barred from the team.  The league he wants to play in has a rule that any 7th grader over 135 pounds is barred from playing, and must play in a school league.  The league also states any player over 135 pounds wears an ‘X’ on his helmet and is limited to playing on either the offensive or defensive lines.

Elijah's Mom, and one of Elijah's coaches, Marc Wright, are going to investigate the head coach's allegations, and Elijah's Mom has already started making posters to protest the decision.

What do think of this?  Should the kid get to play? Have you ever dealt with this for your kids in sports?
