What time of the day you eat can either help or hurt your diet. Studies show that eating earlier in the day is better for weight loss. The study followed people enrolled in a weight loss program and found that those who ate lunch later in the day — after 3 pm -- lost 25 percent less weight than those who ate earlier in the day. And no, it had nothing to do with exercise: The two groups performed the same amount of exercise and had the same amount of sleep. Researchers don’t yet know how meal timing really affects weight loss, just that it does.
